Bishop Keith Balinda Amooti

Bishop Keith Balinda Amooti is the founder and Bishop of Uganda Restoration Gospel Churches, and Senior Pastor of Kaigoro Restoration Gospel Church. Born on 14th April 1935 in Buronzi, Nyakarongo, Mwenge, he has served in ministry for over four decades — rising from pastor, to zone leader, to Bishop — and now oversees 63 churches across Kyenjojo, Kagadi, Kibaale, Kyegegwa, and Kampala.

Bishop Balinda began his education at Ruhoko Nursery School before attending Galihuma Primary School from 1958 to 1964. He went on to study at Makerere Yusufu Mukasa Memorial Bible College, earning a certificate, and later furthered his theological training at Bwerenga RUN Institute (Bible Studies Certificate) and ISOM, where he completed a Diploma in Bible Studies.

Before entering full-time ministry, Bishop Balinda worked at the Telephone Exchange for Kilembe Mines Ltd, and served as a Field Assistant with UTGC from 1964 to 1988.

On 14th December 1979, he married Mrs. Victoria Kabagaya Baliinda, and together they have built a life of faith and service to the church and community.

His Journey of Faith

Bishop Balinda received salvation in 1978, having been preached to by Pastor Zakaliya Bamutana and baptized by Pastor Augustine Kisembo. In 1983, he was filled with the Holy Spirit — a turning point that set him firmly on the path toward ministry.

He began his ministry in 1980 at Kaigoro FGC/RGC, mentored by Pastor Zakaliya Bamutana and Pastor Augustine Kisembo. From there, his calling grew step by step — from Pastor, to Zone Leader, to Bishop.

Founding Uganda Restoration Gospel Churches

In 1987, Bishop Balinda founded Uganda Restoration Gospel Churches and formally registered the ministry with the Ugandan government. What began as a single congregation has since grown into a network of 63 churches across Kyenjojo, Kagadi, Kibaale, Kyegegwa, and Kampala — 28 of which have been built in permanent materials. He continues to lead the ministry's Executive, Board, and General Meetings, and has opened administrative offices in Kyenjojo, Mukunyu, and Kampala to support the growing network.

His Impact and Ministry Achievements

Under Bishop Balinda's leadership, Uganda Restoration Gospel Churches has grown into far more than a place of worship — it is a movement of community transformation:

Economic empowerment — Every church runs its own development projects, including savings and credit groups, supported by the URGC SACCO (Mukama Talemwa)
Education — The ministry has established Nursery, Primary, and Secondary schools, as well as a Nursing and Midwifery Institute

Clean water access — Through partnership with IFGF, clean water was brought to the people of Mpeefu, Kagadi
Equipping pastors — IFGF also provided laptops to pastors, and many have gone on to earn certificates, diplomas, and degrees through ministry-supported training
Caring for the vulnerable — The church runs dedicated programs to support and educate orphans, widows, youth, and women
Strengthening worship and outreach — Investment in public address systems and church conferences has helped raise the level of prayer and gospel preaching across all 63 churches
Partnerships — The ministry works alongside respected church and NGO organizations, including IFGF, MFIEA, DENEVA, UNGOFF, NAFBPC, and KPCC
Community life — Sports and music programs have been developed to engage and disciple the next generation

Kigoro restoration church

Kaigoro Restoration Gospel Church is part of Uganda Restoration Gospel Churches, founded by Bishop Keith Balinda Amooti in 1987. What began as a single congregation has grown into a family of 63 churches across Kyenjojo, Kagadi, Kibaale, Kyegegwa, and Kampala — but our heart has always stayed the same: to worship God, restore lives, and serve our community.

Here in Kaigoro, our church is more than a building — it's a family. From Sunday worship to our nursery school, from supporting widows and orphans to celebrating together as a community, we walk this journey of faith together.

Our Church Family

Our congregation is made up of families, children, youth, choir members, and elders who serve faithfully together. Leadership doesn't rest on one person alone — a dedicated team of pastors and church leaders serve alongside Bishop Balinda to care for our members and guide our ministries.
